FERGS Adventure Club is a term- based weekly programme designed for ages 8-17 years which runs through school terms, typically 10 weeks, with rock climbing at its core.

The Adventure Club focuses on instilling teamwork and building fundamental climbing skills in passionate young adventurers.

 

Prior climbing experience is not necessary!  However, it is important that your child is comfortable at height and are prepared to take on the responsibility of keeping each other safe.

 

We have a team of experienced instructors working at a ratio of 1:8 children, this means that every child will receive individualised feedback and have a safe learning environment.

 

To ensure an optimal learning experience, the children are stream based on climbing abilities - beginner (Level 1), intermediate (Level 2), and advanced (Level 3) groups. As such, the groups will have a mix of ages.

 

There are 5 independent sessions running from 4pm-6pm, Monday to Friday.

Learning to climb is a commitment. Therefore, the Adventure Club membership includes gym access outside of the child's session times. This allows our young adventurers to climb in the gym in their free time to hone their climbing skills.

 

It is important to note that when climbing outside of class time, all children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.  The Adults must be actively supervising children. This means the adult should be within a reasonable distance to intervene, either through spotting or verbally communicating, should their child fall or climb into another climbers route.
